Electric Generation Condition Assessment with Electromagnetic Interference Analysis

The condition assessment of medium voltage assets on production platforms; such as generators, motors, power cables, breakers and transformers can be accomplished with an Electromagnetic Interference test. The various analysis techniques applied by the test engineer are presented. The types of patterns seen are described, along with the deterioration that produces these patterns.Case studies are provided for several of the conditions and defects that have been catalogued. A first test can also determine if no problems are present.
