Improved Power Control for Voltage Profile Enhancement Proposal for Oriental Mindoro

Power control is essential for the efficient delivery of power to the end-users within the acceptable system parameters. This includes the voltage magnitudes at each bus and the current flow in each line. This paper focuses on improved power control for voltage profile enhancement proposal for Oriental Mindoro. The Single Line Diagram is modeled using Paladin Design Base software. Due to the limitation of the software, only three methods are used, namely: Capacitor Bank Switching, Autotransformers, and Static Var Compensators (SVCs). These methods are strictly implemented on one bus per trial. With the absence of synchronizers in the software, phase-shifting transformers were used on parallel transformers, while ANSI transformers for the transformers connected to the loads. Based on the results of the different simulations using Capacitor bank rating of 5000 kVAr at bus 3 or 4 should be considered as the best choice since it provides an average voltage pu of 99.993 and using the Pearson "r" correlation the best choice for precise voltage regulation is the use of static Var compensator at Bus 1 since the value of "r" is 0.9797 better controls over the increase in SVC rating.
