Automated Hollow Tile Floor Detector Using Fast Fourier Transform

This paper explored the use of Fast Fourier Transform Algorithm function in Teensy microcontroller as the subject for analysis to detect whether the tiles are hollow or non-hollow. Teensy Microcontroller can reflect samples of data of complex math in real time due to its powerful processor running at 120Mhz at best. This study utilized teensy version 3.5 and audio shield SGTL_5000 with an electret mic as the input tool to reflect data of Fast Fourier Transform results in real time. The collective FFT results were analyzed and reflected as numerical data. Furthermore, the resulting analysis was used as a reference or basis for distinguishing hollow from non-hollow tiles. After testing, the system device achieved an accuracy of 85.7%.
