Non-contact motion estimation using image correlation

Non-contact motion measurement technique was applied to estimate motion of local regions in hand movement. An optical flow technique, based on tracing the pixel level image intensity, and thresholding was applied to obtain displacement parameters. A square subset of reference image was created from the object and correlated to the subsequent images obtained during motion. The technique is applicable in estimating the nano and meso-scale pixel motion.
