Atom Search optimization Algorithm for Optimal Radial Distribution System Reconfiguration

In proposed paper, a recent swarm-based metaheuristic optimization algorithm named as atom search optimization algorithm (ASO) is applied for solving the optimal distribution system reconfiguring problem to reduce the network power losses. The topological structure of system is reconfigured more times until obtaining the optimum construction of the system for decreasing the total active power losses. ASO simulates the atomic movement in the nature and interaction forces between atoms or molecules where there are resulting interaction forces according to Lennard-jones potential and constraint forces produced from bond-length potential. The results proved the superiority and effectiveness of developed algorithm compared with many other methods.
