Word Sense Disambiguation by Context Detection

Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD) refers to the process of finding the appropriate sense of an ambiguous word i.e. a word with multiple senses. It is an important problem in natural language processing that enables a machine to disambiguate and understand human natural language. In this paper, a method for WSD is proposed based on the context of the word using WordNet as a knowledge base. First, the input paragraph is preprocessed before disambiguating operation starts. The disambiguation process determines the appropriate senses of the ambiguous words using context information of each word in the paragraph. The radix tree data structure used to store context information for efficient searching.
