Android Based Control System for Prosthetic Hand

This paper presents the development of mobile application which is an android based controller to control five hand gestures of prosthetic hand. In this study, prosthetic hand has been developed with 5 motors for each finger and mobile application using android system has been designed for the movements. MIT App Inventor is used to develop the android mobile application. This study has successfully developed a mobile application to control prosthetic hand with 5 different hand gestures. Improvements can be made in the future with integrating the Electromyography (EMG) signals to the controller to get more accurate movements.
