Performance Analysis of RF Energy Harvesting in Decode-and-Forward Model with Co-Channel Interference Consideration

The performance analysis for the proposed system model in cooperative network which incorporates energy harvesting (EH) from source to destination via relaying node is discussed in this paper. A 3-node decode-and-forward (DF) model is proposed where the relay node is subject to an energy constraint. The multiple primary sources and co-channel interference (CCI) are added in the system model known as multiple-source and single-relay (MSSR) is derived in relation to energy harvesting and its signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) equation. The mathematical model is derived in power splitting receiver-based policy (PSR) scheme in aiming to achieve an optimum system throughput at destination. The performance of the network was observed and compared with the time switching receiver-based policy (TSR) and the theoretical receiver by using numerical simulation. It was observed that the network performance in terms of outage probability with multiple sources in the presence of CCI has substantial improvement in relation to the system throughput and network capacity.
