Abstract:
Batik is the traditional craft product of Asian but it is most commonly produced on a moderate scale by Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) via the screen printing method. They struggle to produce it on a larger scale and usually take a much longer time as they will compromise the quality of the batik if they rush production. In order to upscale the production of batik, SMEs resort to subcontracting their work to printing companies. This brings the production costs up and decreases the profits of these SMEs. This research aims to design and develop of Automated Batik Production Machine that can help batik SMEs to upscale production. The integrated system incorporates the usage of IoT technology that has the ability to monitor and control the entire process. This proposed design has a high potential in commercialisation in order to fulfil the demands from the industry.
