Avoidance of the relapse condition of Prostate Cancer using Super-twisting Sliding Mode Control

Relapse condition refers to the recurrence of cancer after treatment. It depends on both the population of androgen-dependent (AD) cells and androgen-independent (AI) cells. Thus, controlling the population of AD cells and AI cells can prevent occurrence of relapse condition. This has been achieved using sliding mode control (SMC). The SMC produces a chattering effect which is not a desirable condition and therefore a super-twisting SMC is being used to control the number of AD cells as well as AI cells successfully, which reflects the novelty of the work. A comparative analysis between two methods has been shown using MATLAB simulation results.
