Cyclic MUSIC Algorithm Based on Dual Cyclic Frequencies for Direction Finding

This paper presents a method of direction finding for linear array sensors by exploiting the symmetry of signal cyclostationary in the cyclic frequency domain. A new cyclic cross-correlation matrix is constructed utilizing the positive and negative cyclic frequencies, and then MUSIC algorithm is used to estimate direction of arrival of the sources. Compared with the existing algorithms, the proposed algorithm has better angle resolution under low SNR condition when the sources impinge on the array from closely directions and the computational complexity is little higher than SC-SSF and GACM algorithm but far lower than others. Moreover, the proposed algorithm can be applied for both narrow-band and wide-band signals. The effectiveness of the algorithm is verified by computer simulation.
