Damping of Tower Crane Payload Vibrations

The paper deals with compensator design for damping payload vibrations of a laboratory tower crane (TCR). TCR is used as a research and education aid to demonstrate control problems of mechatronics. The focus is on dynamic model identification and design of a compensator to damp payload vibration in the x-direction.
