Simulation and Analysis for Microwave Radiation Safety of a 64-meter Deep Space Antenna

To meet the communication and navigation needs of the deep space exploration, the deep space antenna has very large aperture and high transmission power. The microwave radiation safety is a key factor for the selection and layout of the deep space station site. In this paper, based on the equivalent principle, the near-field radiation of a 64m beam waveguide antenna of deep space station is simulated by using the algorithm of combining multi-level fast multipole method (MLFMM) with physical optics (PO). According to the simulation results and relevant standards of human exposure to microwave radiation, the safe distance can be analyzed and determined, which can provide reference and technical basis for the location and layout of deep space station.
