Development of a High-temperature Micro-tube Furnace for the in-situ Investigation

In this work, we have developed a micro-tube furnace, which enable coupling to the Raman spectrometer, for the in-situ morphology and spectroscopy investigations of materials at the high temperature. This furnace could achieve a working temperature as high as 1050 °C, and the quartz tube provided a vacuum/gas atmosphere for the raw materials. Using the developed micro-furnace, a non-liner optical crystal, beta barium borate ($\beta$-BaB2O4 or BBO), was in-situ investigated the structure deformation and crystal growth depended on the temperature. This developed furnace may be applicable to various functional materials, promoting their scientific research and practice application in the future.
