Impact Assessment of Installed Photovoltaic on Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicle Considering Fast Identification of Power Changes

In the installation of photovoltaic (PV) arrays on the roof of fuel cell hybrid electric vehicles (FCHEVs) and maximum power point tracking (MPPT) we should consider the photovoltaic output power under various conditions such as fast changes in the intensity of irradiation, temperature, and movement of the vehicle in various conditions. The fast identification of power changes and accurate tracking of maximum power point (MPP) is one of the most critical issues to overcome MPPT issues. The proposed MPPT algorithm should enable fast-tracking of MPP in the vehicle for all conditions such as irregular driving, sudden changes in temperature, and intensity of irradiation. In this paper, an energy management strategy and MPPT method proposed for SAMAND FCHEV with PV array. The simulation results of the proposed MPPT method and coordinated energy management indicate increasing daily driving mileage, fast-tracking MPPT, as well as fast identification capability of power changes.
