The Design of User Meter Reading System Based on ZigBee and GSM

Traditional manual meter reading method consumes a lot of manpower and material resources. The time span of data acquisition is long and the accuracy of data acquisition is low. It can not meet the requirements of periodicity, real-time and accuracy. So the traditional manual meter reading method can not adapt to the development of modern society. In this paper, a method based on wireless transmission is proposed to monitor and detect the meter. A wireless meter reading system based on ZigBee-GSM technology is proposed by using ZigBee wireless network and GSM communication network for real-time monitoring of power consumption data. The ZigBee network base station is composed of CC2430 system chip produced by Chipcon Company and the GSM node is composed of TC35 module produced by Siemens Company. The data is communicated by using SMS short message function to realize remote monitoring of power consumption. The user meter reading system designed in this paper can realize the measurement of electricity consumption and send the data to the user's mobile phone in the way of remote wireless transmission, which achieves the expected goal.
