Research of LDPC Coding and Encoding for Satellite Communication

As the increasing demands of spatial frequency resources, more and more geostationary satellites use Ka-band to realize high-speed data transmission. The data transmission link has characteristics of long distance and high rain attenuation. For the convenience of data processing and improving the performance of codecs, quasi - cyclic LDPC (QC-LDPC) and log - likelihood ratio decoding (LLR-BP) algorithms are designed. This paper mainly studies the coding and decoding algorithm of LDPC, proposes the overall optimized design method of the satellite communication system, finally gives the verification results of a nearly launched geostationary orbit satellite.
