A Template Matching Based Method for Surface-Mount Rectangular-Pin-Chip Positioning and Defect Detection

This paper is concerned about the template matching-based rectangular-pin-chip positioning and defect detection problem and a precise efficient universal algorithm of coarse and fine positioning is proposed. In this paper, rectangular-pin-chip is defined as the chips with the package types of SOP, SOJ, PLCC, SOT and so on. In coarse positioning step, the model and edge feature are proposed to get the rough correspondence and correct correspondence. According to the rough location, least square method and template matching are applied to obtain the accurate center coordinate and angle. Then the defect detection is worked out by the duty cycle of template. The experiment on several real-time rectangular-pin-chip positioning shows the effectiveness of our method.
