Enabling the Integration of Health-Emergency Alert with privacy of Patients' location based services

The popularity of Self-service technologies (SSTs) in healthcare has increased in recent times, for their capabilities in quality improvement. Patients are more independent in care processes by using SSTs applications, such as wearable measurement instruments, apps for smart devices or services over the Internet. These services serve various purposes, such as status logging or customer interface. The more advanced ones provide smart environments for supporting patients and follow-up. The main advantage of SSTs is the fast response to emergencies and improved patient-paramedic communication. The drawbacks of these technologies refer to concerns about data privacy or erroneous information provided by the user. This paper proposes fast, flexible, privacy and secured communication levels for SSTs.
