Modeling and Simulation of Vehicle Braking System Based on PID Control

A slip controller for vehicles based on PID theory is established in this paper. A single wheel brake model for vehicles with nonlinear Burckhardt tire and hydraulic brake system were built. And ABS controller with PID was designed. After that, the simulation experiments under different pavement conditions were carried out based on Simulink to verify the effectiveness and robustness of the control system. The results show that the vehicle with PID control can brake safely on different road surfaces, and the control system has good robustness.
