Experimental Modelling of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Voltage Losses

This paper explores voltage losses of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) stacks interesting for power systems in transport applications. There, the energy conversion systems, which convert the chemical energy of hydrogen (fuel) into electricity, have a great potential to become a substitute for conventional internal combustion engines. The data needed to calculate and model voltage losses of the considered PEMFC type were obtained by a series of experimental measurements in the Fuel Cells laboratory.
