Android Application for Periodical Vehicle Inspection

This paper presents the Android smart phone application for periodic technical inspection stations. The main goal of employing this application in vehicle inspection procedure is to increase safety on road. The application contributes in the following way: it brings additional cheating prevention by making the technician authorize himself before starting inspection, it is mandatory to take photographs of VIN and odometer and the application sends the location altogether with the photographs (it will not take photos without localization services enabled), it reads vehicle identification number by on board diagnostics and obviously it can find more vehicle defects using on board diagnostics.
