Using Statistical Data Processing in the Identification of Individuals by Principal Component Analysis Method

The system of identification of persons at the entrance of a checkpoint is considered. A frontal faces database of participants of the experiment has been previously created: "owns" who are allowed to enter a checkpoint, and "aliens" with a ban on entry. Viola-Jones algorithm was used to detect the area of each person's face for comparison and decision-making was performed by using the principal component analysis method. Two control options are considered: an instant photo and video stream at the entrance. In this article, the Matlab application was used to implement all experiments by utilizing statistical data processing based on the principal component analysis method. As a result, the threshold value for the identification of persons was found and the comparison results of experiments with different number of test images are shown in this article.
