Microwave system with sensor utilizing CuO-based gas-sensitive layer for acetone detection

This paper presents the investigation results of microwave gas sensors based on the metal oxide - cooper oxide (CuO) at 2.4 GHz. The developed gas sensors were tested at room temperature (23°C) and 50% relative humidity (RH) under exposure to 0-200 ppm of acetone. Thanks to a decreased measurement uncertainty of the utilized microwave system together with an enhanced sensor's sensitivity, the obtained responses were improved in comparison with previously presented ones.
