Numerical Simulation of Simplified Cavitation Jet Cleaner with Unsteady Inlet Pressure

The cavitation jet cleaner is a simple cleaning device which has the advantages of wide cleaning range, safe and reliable, long cleaning distance and so on. Based on the method of UDF in the FLUENT software and its secondary development, A simplified two-dimension axial-symmetric model is taken as the main research object to simulate the actual cleaning process. The simulation results show that cavitation phenomenon occurs in the throat between the cleaner and the pipeline due to sudden change of flow field cross section. When the inlet pressure is above 0.7 MPa, the cavitation region extends to the right side of the cleaner and the stable cavitation effect can be obtained.
