State-space Modeling for a 4-Port DC-DC Converter

Interfacing has been an essential part in electrical networks like DC micro-grid considering chances of different DC voltage levels available with majority of renewable resources based power generation, energy storage and DC loads. Multiport DC-DC converter (MPDDC) based interfacing has been found to be superior over its well-known counterpart, which involves individual converters for each individual like power generating sources, energy storage and loads in a DC microgrid. This necessitates the modeling and analysis of the MPDDC. Modeling brings convenience in behavioural analysis of each of power generating resources, energy storage and loads associated with nonlinear systems like a MPDDC. This work focuses on the state-space modeling of a 4-port DC-DC converter (FPDDC), incorporated in a DC micro-grid, through the detailed, large, and small signal models.
