Patient-specific dental arch estimation via LASSO regression analysis in CBCT images

There are many known maxillofacial abnormalities in the world, but only a few of them are common. As One of these deformities, we focus on the asymmetry and dysplasia of maxilla or mandibular. Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) surgeries are the only known solution for them, which the outcome depends on surgeon's experience and requires extensive pre-surgical planning. calculation of amount of these abnormalities can aid the surgeon at all stages to plan and operate to achieve the desired shape. We will find relevant local features automatically using SIFT algorithm which provides many descriptor key points. Then we detect symmetry axis of maxilla or mandibular each data. In order to estimate the corrected model, several cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images of normal subjects have also been used. Regarding the patient's normal information, we want to calculate the amount of abnormality and estimate its corrected model.
