Gain Enhancement of Extremely Wide Band Stubbed Monopole Antenna Backed by Dielectric

Recently, there is a huge demand for devices which can work on multiple frequency bands. These devices have to be miniaturized and highly efficient. This paper presents a gain enhancement of stubbed monopole antenna working on super high frequency using a dielectric backing structure. Here three different shapes of the backing structure are proposed such as square, hemispherical lens, and spherical lens dielectrics. Moreover, based on the performance observed, it is possible to draw a conclusion that the dielectric backing can be used for maximum gain enhancement without sacrificing the bandwidth.
