Theoretical and Experimental Investigation of the Optical Properties of Nano nickel Films

It is well-known that the physical properties of already explored materials change in the process of their transformation into nanocrystals. The investigation of the reciprocal influence of the microstructure and the composition on the physical properties of nano-dispersive medium had become the goal of intensive exploration. In the given paper, using the nano Ni films nano-dispersive medium we consider theoretically and experimentally the impact of the structural parameters on the optical properties of the nanodispersive structures. In this work the optical properties of nano-dispersive structures are represented within the theoretical Maxwell-Garnett model. The behavior of the optical frequency dependences of nano Ni films was interpreted in the framework of the effective medium approximation in two cases: q<; 0.5 and 0.5<; q<; 1 where q is the occupancy of the space of the nano-dispersive medium with particles. In this approach an effective refractive index (n+ik) of the nano structures can be calculated as a function of the properties of the matrix ε

, q, and particle shapes. These calculations demonstrated a good accordance between the theoretical and the experimental results.
