The Influence of Terahertzand Middle-Infrared Laser Radiationon the Membrane-Dependent Properties of Rats’ Red Blood Cells

The change in the membrane-dependent properties of red blood cells under the influence of laser radiation in the middle infrared (mid-IR) (λ = 9.8 μm) and terahertz (THz) (λ = 70.6 μm) bands was studied. The parameters of acid hemolysis (its rate and intensity as well as the level of the primary products of lipid peroxidation of red blood cells membranes) were used as the indices of erythrocytes state. The obtained data suggest the multidirectional laser effect (depending on its band) may be caused by different acceptors in the cells and their components, for instance, the intercarbon bonds in fatty acids of lipid bilayer (for mid-IR), water molecules (for THz).
