The long-wavelength surface plasmons in the single-wall carbon nanotubes with the elliptic cross section

The long-wavelength surface plasmons in the achiral carbon nanotubes with the elliptic cross section have been studied. The dispersion equation and the expression for the phase velocity of such plasmons have been obtained with the help of the boundary shape perturbation approach in the first order by the eccentricity. It is established that the variation of the radius of the nanotube effects on the change of the frequency and the phase velocity stronger that the deformation of the cross section and the dispersion is essential for the long-wavelength surface plasmons.
