Design and Electrical Characteristics of a Microwave Multiband Single Slotted Antenna with Different Dielectric Substrate Materials

Microstrip multiband antenna is designed in this paper and can be used for different RF applications. Performance is analyzed on different substrates and their properties such as return loss, radiation pattern and gain is analyzed. The substrate materials used are FR4, RT-Duriod, Duriod 6010, Benzocyclobutane, and Roger 4350. Properties of any antenna can be varied by choosing appropriate substrate to obtain the desired frequency band. The analysis includes the calculation of antenna parameters like return loss, gain and VSWR. It is found that the characteristics of antenna vary when designed on different dielectric substrates. All results obtained are comparable with desired values.
