Performance Estimate of Range Profile Feature Extraction by Means of Interclass Metric Histograms Analysis

In this paper an outline is given for the range profile feature extraction procedures comparison technique. This technique is suitable for range profiles obtained by laser detection and ranging systems, without a prior knowledge of viewing aspect. In order to compare the feature extraction procedures, interclass metric histograms are used. This analysis appeared to be sensitive to class separability decrease, caused by either reduction of range profile signal bandwidth or use of the feature extraction procedures, providing time invariant features.
