The Debug Environment of TI-RTOS Based on Beaglebone Black

To achieve the application of BeagleBone Black in real-time control system, a real-time operating system needs to run on it instead of Linux, a time-sharing operating system. This paper proposes apply the embedded real-time operating system TI-RTOS on BeagleBone Black, and details the flow of construction debugging environment, emulator debug environment and serial debug environment on Code Composer Studio, and how to use semaphores in the user app. The advantage of this solution is that it combines the real-time system and open source software platform features of TI-RTOS with open source hardware and low-cost features of BeagleBone Black. By the test of running a typical routine of TI-RTOS on the BeagleBone Black in the debugging environment, it shows that the construction of debugging environment for TI-RTOS running on BeagleBone Black is valid. By referring to this paper, developers can save preparation time in the research to develop real-time intelligent system of TI-RTOS on BeagleBone Black.
