Design of Delta-Sigma Modulators for DC/AC Inverters

In a DC/AC inverter, a switching circuit turns DC on and off repeatedly to generate a multi-level signal, which is fed into an electrical circuit. This paper adopts a Delta-Sigma modulator in place of often used PWM to improve the quality of the output waveform of the inverter, by taking advantage of the knowledge about the circuit. A comparison with the conventional PWM controlled inverter is provided to see the effectiveness of the inverter controlled by our designed Delta-Sigma modulator.
