Application of an Improved Lagrangian Interpolation Prediction Method in Continuous Power Flow Calculation

The paper expounds a mixing continuous parameters selection-based Lagrange interpolation method and relevant variable step-size strategy for calculating continuation power flow. The purpose of the method is to find a continuation parameter of power flow solutions for a given load change scenario, and improves continuation power flow method combining relevant variable step-size strategy. Moreover, this method chooses different continuation parameters in different areas of P-V curves to obtain the Lagrange interpolation coefficient, and then predicts the power flow. The paper compares this method with others which bases on single continuation parameter according to IEEE14-bus and IEEE39-bus system, and the results show that method proposed in the paper is of high robustness and wide applicability.
