Test on Dynamic Performance of Electronic Instrument Transformers

Electronic instrument transformers (EIT) are the key elements to implement smart substations. However, there present many problems as the fast deployment of EITs in smart substation. It is imperative to develop efficient testing tool to verify the performance of EITs. The test for the dynamic performance of EITs, especially using Rogowski coil based current instrument transformer, is described in detail in this chapter. The design of the system and the methods to evaluate the performance of an EIT are described.
