Slicing Principle and Cutter Design for the Arc Internal Tooth of Pin Gear Housing in RV Reducer

The manufacturing process of key parts in RV reducer is one of the key technologies affecting mass production of RV reducer. In order to improve the manufacturing accuracy and efficiency of the pre-grinding process of the circular arc teeth in the pin gear housing of RV reducer, the slicing technology is applied to the arc internal tooth processing for the first time. Firstly, the cutting principle of the pin gear housing slicing is analyzed, and then the motion model of the slicing process is established. Based on the kinematic model of gear slicing, the geometric design of the cutting edge and faces of slicing cutter is carried out according to the principle of surface conjugation. Finally, the cutting test of the new cutter is carried out, which proves that the new cutter has excellent cutting performance and can be used for mass processing of circular arc teeth in RV reducer.
