Abstract:

Experiment-based laboratory education is a constant part of pedagogical environment in technical study programs. Didactically efficient and cost-effective experimental setups clearly demonstrating important principles are needed for this purpose. A system for data stream generation and analysis and a remotely controlled emulator of communication channel were designed, assembled and tested at our department. Communication technologies for Internet access (NGA), Smart Grid and other industrial use can be tested and presented in engineering education with the help of these systems. Test conditions close to real situations can be simulated by the devices (for example testing and measurement of mobile network services and fixed access, testing of parameters of power line communication systems for industrial use, etc.). Practical experience from laboratory education is presented and discussed in this paper.
