Research on equalization method of battery management system

Battery equalization technology is the key technology of battery management system, which can make the state of battery in a group tend to be the same. Efficient equalization can improve the energy release efficiency of the battery pack and slow down its aging rate. In this paper, a novel equalization method based on the average level of battery terminal voltage is proposed for the first time. The method uses grouping average method and average method periodically. The concept and function of switching coefficient are put forward by modeling the battery and analyzing the problem of equilibrium optimization. Experimental results show that this method can achieve the equalization of battery pack in series quickly and efficiently.
