A Single-Stage Flyback LED Driver Based On Energy Distribution Without Electrolytic Capacitor

Conventional two-stage LED drivers with high power factors (PF) suffer from poor efficiency and complicated control. A low ripple single-stage flyback converter based on energy distribution with power factor correction (PFC) is presented for LED lighting in this paper. The proposed LED driver consists of a flyback converter, a ripple compensation circuit and a control circuit. ripple compensation circuit provide a continuous loop based on energy distribution. which achieves zero double-line-frequency current ripple through LED lamps and no electrolytic capacitor. A 40 W (100 V/0.4 A) simulation topology is designed on PSIM to verify the capability and excellent performance of the proposed circuit.
