A Novel SIW Dual-Band Filtering Divider

A novel dual-band filtering divider is presented in this paper based on a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) dual-band filters. The power divider is embedded in the SIW filter. Therefore, lower insertion loss and more compact area size can be realized than those using the independent design of both components. In order to achieve better performance, transmission zeros are introduced by cross coupling through the resonant cavities. The design parameters required for both passbands can be realized by determining proper offset positions of the feeding ports and coupling windows. The dual-band filter-divider operates at 11.8 GHz and 15.7 GHz with the bandwidths of 5.6% and 5.2%. It has the advantages of low-loss, compact, and easy-integration with planar circuits.
