Simultaneous Frequency and Coupling Coefficient Reconfigurable Hybrid Coupler

This paper proposes a novel hybrid coupler that can simultaneously change the operating frequency and coupling coefficient. By changing the value of four capacitors loaded on the horizontal branch can realize frequency reconfigurable. While varying the value of two capacitors loaded on the vertical branch and other two capacitors loaded on the intermediate coupled-line can provide different coupling coefficients. The coupler exhibits a tunable frequency range from 1.7 to 2.9 GHz with a relative bandwidth larger than 20%. Meanwhile, the power division ratios can be tuned from 3 to 10 dB at different operating frequencies.
