A 1-bit Switchable Reflection-Transmission Integrated Coding Metasurface

Coding metasurface, as a burgeoning type of novel metasurface, has caught the eye of the researchers in recent years. Here, we propose a 1-bit switchable reflection-transmission integrated coding metasurface by loading PIN diodes. When the PIN diodes are “ON” or “OFF” states, the proposed metasurface will perform as a transmitarray or reflectarray, respectively. The presented switchable coding metasurface provides inspirations for the design of programmable reflection-transmission integrated metasurface, which may open wider field for the design of dynamic multifunctional devices.
