Wireless Adhoc Networks: Performance Analysis Considerations for AODV Routing Protocols

Wireless Adhoc Networks can be defined as infrastructure-less networks that rely neither on fixed connectivity/base station nor on predefined topology. Distributed control give equal right to all mobile hosts in the network. There are various routing protocols for defined for the wireless adhoc network such as DSR, DSDV, and AODV etc. In this paper, the AODV routing protocol is discussed along with its implementation on NS-2.35 and parameters for performance analysis consideration. Also, an introduction to NS-2.35 is given in the paper for reference. Various parameters are discussed which can affect the performance of the AODV routing protocols. Also for future, it is proposed to work on a modified approach for AODV routing protocol with link analysis and route optimization techniques for better performance of base routing protocol.
