A Four Switch Three-Port DC/DC/AC Converter Based on Power Decoupling Technique — Simulation Analysis

In this paper, a decouple capacitor is introduced for reducing the low frequency ripple power present during DC-to-AC conversion. Here the inverter will consist of three ports: a PV panel as dc port, a decoupling capacitor and an ac port. This configuration offers power decoupling function which eliminates ripple power generated by the output ac load. Compared to H-bridge inverter this topology is compact and cost-effective. The harmonics distortion present in the inverter due to output ac voltage should be minimized to below 5% and here it is kept below 1.5%. The ripple power is reduced and the ripple factor is kept below unity. An inductive load is considered as ac port to realize the topology. A decouple capacitor of $100\mu\mathrm{F}$ is used to reduce ripple power in the inverter. Closed loop current control approach is developed to control ripple power and regulate to power flow between the input and output ports. The converter is simulated in MATLAB platform to analyze its operation and control technique.
