Status and Analysis of 3GPP 5G NR Base Station EMC Specification

The 3GPP RAN4 group has published the EMC specification TS 38.113[1] for 5G NR base station, which is the first public published 5G base station EMC specification all over the world. This TS 38.113 is a key guidance and reference for 5G base station EMC test. So far the latest version is TS 38.113 v15.6.0. The major difference of this new specification compared to legacy ones are the introduction of Active Antenna System known as AAS. The radiated emission, radiated immunity test hence have different requirements and test method. Other EMC test are also fully influenced on test set-up and test configuration. In this paper, the status of current TS 38.113 is updated and the major difference stated above have been fully analyzed.
