Hierarchical Model of the Network Interaction Representation in the Telemedicine System

Problem of the organization of secure network interaction in telemedicine systems, which are actively being created and implemented in healthcare, is considered. The analysis of network resources and services of telemedicine systems for various purposes and their capabilities are presented. As an example, a telemedicine system for remote monitoring of a person's state is considered; the component of system is a mobile measuring complex for picking up, recording and processing biosignals. In such a telemedicine system, the decision on the state of a person is made on the basis of the assessment and identification of transmitted data. The relevance of research in the field of information security of telemedicine systems is noted, and the task of ensuring the integrity, accessibility and consistency of data is posed. A threat model has been created and its analysis has been performed for the system that ensures continuous monitoring of the human state on the recorded biosignals. It is concluded that the main studies are related to ensuring the security of the interaction of certain types of components of the telemedicine system and do not affect its entire network structure. In addition, most studies consider only one level of representation of the system. A hierarchical structure of the system under study is proposed on the basis of the OSI reference model and the levels of data presentation are described. The tasks of ensuring the safe interaction of the components of the telemedicine system at each hierarchical level of the proposed model are highlighted. Examples of the organization of secure network interaction in the system of remote monitoring of the human state at various levels of data presentation are given. Methods and algorithms for the implementation of such an interaction, as well as a network protocol to ensure the protection of data transmitted over open channels, are proposed.
