Multicriteria analysis for landslide inventory mapping using PS-InSAR

In this research work, a multicriteria analysis is performed for the preparation of landslide inventory maps in Uttarakhand, India primarily using PS-InSAR approach. A pre-existing landslide inventory map, initially prepared by Geological Survey of India (GSI) is validated through processing of 10 Sentinel-1A and 15 Envisat ASAR images corresponding to ~11*24 sq. km wide river basin located in Uttarakhand, India using PS-InSAR approach. As a result, 9 landslide sites common to landslide inventory map prepared by GSI as a part of validation process and 22 new landslide sites are identified. Further an updated map of the susceptible landslide zones is generated using weighted overlay analysis in GIS platform by combining PS-InSAR results and DEM derived products. These susceptible zones are further validated during a field visit.
