Crystallite structure estimation of TiO2 doped ZnO nanoparticles from X-ray diffraction data

In this study, P25 (0.3%) type TiO
₂
was used as a dopant with ZnO film. Doctor Blade method was employed to prepare this film. X-Ray diffraction analysis was done to examine the structural properties of ZnO. This analysis has confirmed the hexagonal wurtzite structure of ZnO. Williamson-Hall (W-H) and size-strain plot (SSP) method was employed to analyze the X-ray peak profile from which crystallite size and lattice strain can be obtained. It is confirmed that, owing to the doping of TiO
₂
crystallite size of ZnO nanoparticles decreased whereas lattice strain increased. Modified W-H models namely uniform deformation model (UDM), uniform stress deformation model (USDM), and uniform deformation energy density model (UDEDM) were employed to determine some other physical parameters. In this study, W got more appropriate values by using SSP method for D and ε as the data is more close-fitting and accurately set with the linear adaptation.
